The demand for ‘Duronto’ brand motorbike manufactured by ‘Runner Group’ has been increasing rapidly as the price of 82.2cc bike is affordable.
The full-fledged factory of Runner on 25 bighas of land at Bhaluka in Mymensingh has the capacity of manufacturing 500 motorcycles per day.
“We are getting inspiration by the unprecedented success of ‘Duronto’ and take pride in being a local brand. We are offering six years’ after sales service. No other local companies are providing the same facilities,” Hafizur Rahman
Khan, Chairman of the Runner Group told The New Nation on Wednesday.
He said, we think that the bike of the new design and new model has been able to gain consumers’ confidence.
Runner, which started assembling motorcycles in its plant at Bhaluka in 2007 with the approval from BUET and BRTA, received government approval in 2011 by establishing punching, welding, assembling, testing units. The full-fledged factory went into operation in 2012.”
The factory has already gained the capacity to manufacture and assemble important spare parts like chassis, rear fork, fuel tank, main stand, side stand and foot pig. The most-modern paint shop has also been set up for painting these accessories and spare parts, Hafizur Rahman Khan said.
“Runner Automobiles guarantees after sales service to its customers across the country. It has over 200 service centres,” he said, adding, “Runner Service Centres are able to reach necessary spare parts to any place in the country within 24 hours.”
The ‘Duronto’ model of bikes designed by the engineers of Runner Automobiles has single-cylinder 4-stroke air-cooled petrol engines which are capable to generate 4.0 kilowatt power. These engines have rotating speed of 7500 RPM and starts with a kick. The 74.5-kg bike has the capacity to store 7.5 litres of petrol. This model of bike has spoke wheels and there are drum brakes at both the front and the back wheels.
Md Mozammel Haque, Deputy General Manger (Marketing) of Runner said, “50cc and 80cc motorcycles manufactured by Runner Group are leading local market.”
Md Hossain Chowdhury, Marketing Officer of Runner said, “We are selling ‘Duronto’ Motorcycle at affordable rate. The demand for this brand of motorcycle has been increasing rapidly since the national budget for the fiscal 2015-16 was presented”.
The Duronto brand motorbike can also be bought in installments by paying half of the price as down payment. If any buyer repays the total value, they there will be waiver of interests. But an interest of 2.5 percent should be charged for installment for more than three months.
There are six-year engine warranties of Duronto Motorcycle. The company is providing four free services in first year, three free services in second year and two free services in the third year.
