A total of 346 puja mandops will be erected on the ensuing Durga Puga festival in the six upazilas of Narsingdi district.
President of the district Puga celebration committee Prof Surja Kanta Das disclosed this in the preparatory meeting held in the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room on Wednesday with the chair of Deputy Commissioner of the district Seyda Farhana Kawnine.
Prof Surja Kanta Das said of the total puja mandops 98 will be erected in Nrsingdi Sadar upzila including 33 in Narsingdi Pourashava and 16 in Madhabdi pourashava, 42 in Polash upazila, 74 in Shibpur upazila, 46 in Monohardi upazila, 22 in Belabo upazila and 64 in Raipura upazila.
The leaders of the district and upazila puga udjapan parishad, district level officials and local journalists were present in the meeting.
In the meeting the Deputy Commissioner Farhana Kawnine urged all the Hindu community to celebrate the festival with enthusiasm and religious fervor.
Police super Shaifullah -Al- Mamon also held a meeting at his office conference room yesterday Thursday for holding Durga Puga in the district peacefully. He urged the law enforcing agencies to maintain the law and order for holding the Durga puga in the district free and peacefully.

In the meeting, recently the death of General Secretary of Sharankhola Puja Celebration Committee, Mukherjee, sought the peace of his outgoing soul.
Now 27 Mandap Puja is being held in 4 Union of Sharankhola upazila. Preparations are going on for seven days in Dhanasagar union of the upazila, 3 in Khonatakya union, 12 in Rayda union and five Mandop Puja in Southkhali union. Various Mandapes were seen to spend time busy making artists. They say that at the end of their preparation.
