The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday (Wednesday) placed BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Shamsuzzaman Dudu on a two-day remand in a case filed for vandalism and arson.
Magistrate Asaduzzaman Nur passed the remand order on Wednesday afternoon. Earlier in the morning, Police official of Mirpur Model Police Station pleaded for a seven-day remand to interrogate BNP leader Dudu.
On January 13, Detective Branch of Police arrested Dudu, who is also the
Secretary of pro-BNP front Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal from the Mirpur area of the capital for instigating destructive activities across the country during the BNP-led alliance’s ongoing indefinite blockade.
Shamsuzzaman Dudu was allegedly involved in vandalism and arson in the Rokeya Sarani of Mirpur in December.
