Dhaka University’s Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman on Wednesday ruled out possiblity of DUCSU re-election.
He said it when newly-elected Vice President of the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Nurul Haque Nur demanded re-election to all posts by March 31.
“I cannot dishonour the DU teachers and staff who worked earnestly to make DUCSU election a success. I have no right to defame their efforts,” VC said.
The DU VC was talking to the reporters on the campus.
The DU authorities will not tolerate if anyone tries to hamper the peaceful environment and create anarchy on the campus, he added.
Earlier in the day, five panels of different student organisations submitted a memorandum to the VC demanding re-election to the DUCSU.
