The footages of the Close Circuit (CC) cameras of different strategic points of DUCSU building went missing after Sunday’s brutal attacks on VP Nurul Haque Nur and his followers.
According to DUCSU Administrative Office, the activists of Muktijuddha Mancha took the hard disks and monitor by force after the attack.
According to student sources, there are at least nine closed circuit cameras installed in and outside of the DUCSU building and footages were captured from a room of the central DUCSU Administrative Office.
When asked about the footage, DUSCU Senior
Administrative Officer Abul Kalam Azad said that during the attack we went to communicate with the proctor and treasurer of the university informing the violence. During that time leaders of Muktijuddha Mancha Aminul Islam Bulbul and his followers took the footage and monitor by force.
Besides, our all staff members left the office because they became very much afraid because of the violence.
Dhaka University’s Proctor AKM Golam Rabbani said, “I have come to know that the footages of the DUSCU CCTV cameras were stripped from the spot. In fact, we don’t know who took it. So, we can’t say anything now.”
Earlier, DUCSU Vice President Nurul Haque Nur and 32 others were injured in an attack allegedly carried out by the activists of Chhatra League and Muktijuddha Mancha on Sunday.
