Executive Committee Members of Dhaka University Alumni Association Batch 89 (DUAAB) distributed relief materials among the flood-affected people of Haor area on Friday.
Relief materials such as rice, pulse, potato, oil, onion, salt, flour, chilli, sugar, oral saline and medicine were distributed among 800 affected families of Madhya Nagar, Dharmapasha Thana under Sunamganj district.
Abul Fazal Mir Badal, President, Executive Committee, DUAAB and Deputy Secretary, Home Ministry inaugurated the relief distribution programme while Kibria Mazumdar, General Secretary, DUAAB and PS to the Rail Minister gave the address of welcome. In inaugural speech, DUAAB President said that we have come forward to help the affected people with our limited relief materials beside the government. The General Secretary said that our scanty effort is to get the flood affected people of Haor area bloom for arriving in this in accessible area.
It may be mentioned here that 800 affected families were selected by local member of DUAAB Anisuzzaman. Other members of DUAAB executive committee were Prof Nasiruddin Mitul, Uzzal Mishkat, Kazal Jalali, Hashim Ahmed Nipu, Nipun, Md. Omar Faruque, Khaleduzzaman Jewel, Sohrab Hiru, Ramjan and Md. Mushfiqur Rahman Mithu.
President and General Secretary expressed their satisfaction over cooperation by local administration.
