Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique has said that the new generation of the country should know the real history of the Liberation War for building a developed nation upholding the spirit of the war.
He said this while addressing a rally at Battala (bottom of banyan tree) on the campus on Monday morning. JSD Chhatra League, the students wing of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), arranged the rally marking the day of formal hoisting flag of Independent Bangladesh.
President of the organization Shamsul Islam Sumon presided over the rally while its secretary Shahjahan Ali Saju
conducted the programme. Prof. Arefin Siddique at the rally hoisted the national flag and inaugurated the day-long program of Chhatra League.
Prof. Arefin Siddique asked the leaders and workers of the Chhatra League to work for revealing the real history of the country. He also asked them to raise their voice against distortion of the history of the war.
He said that the flag means raising voice for truth. “No compromise to revel the true history. We should follow the ideology of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and work for the country upholding the spirit of 1971 war. We have to avoid the so-called proclaimer of independence,” he said.
After the rally, the Chhatra League brought out a flag procession which paraded different parts of the campus. Prof. Arefin Siddique also joined the procession.
