Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman called upon the students to respect each other to establish peace and harmony in the society. The VC as chief guest was addressing the orientation program of 1st year Honors students of different departments under the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Fine Art of DU on Tuesday at TSC auditorium. Students’ Counseling and Guidance Office of DU organized the program.
Director of Students’ Counseling and Guidance Office Prof Dr Mahjabeen Haque presided over the program while Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Dr Muhammad Samad, Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof Dr Tofail Ahmad Chowdhury and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Fine Art Prof Sheikh Afzal Hossain addressed it as special guests. Chairmen and Students Advisors of different departments were present on this occasion.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman urged the students to play an effective role in making DU campus clean and tidy. Terming Dhaka University as a nurturing center for religious, cultural, non-communal and humanitarian values he said students must equip themselves with these values.
He congratulated the brilliant students for getting admitted into this university through a competitive examination. He hoped that the students would defeat all challenges including financial one and be successful in life. The university authorities will provide all out support and cooperation to the students in this regard, he assured.
