Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique expressed profound shock at the death of honorary professor of Geology Department Md Sajjad Hossain.
In a condolence message, the DU VC said Prof Sajjad was a devoted teacher. He (Sajjad) played a responsible role in the university and at the national level as a renowned geologist, Prof Arefin added.
The VC conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for peace of the departed soul.
Prof Sajjad died of a heart attack at his Mohammadpur residence on Thursday.
