Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique on Friday expressed profound shock at the death of Major (Retd) Ziauddin Ahmed, a sub-sector commander of Bangladesh’s Liberation War in 1971.
In a message of condolence, the VC said the death of Ziauddin is an irreparable loss to the country.
He will ever be remembered for his outstanding contribution in the Liberation War and democratic movements, the DU VC also said.
Professor Arefin prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
