Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique on Wednesday expressed deep shock at the death of noted mathematician and a former teacher of the Department of Mathematics of the University Professor AFM Khodadad Khan.
He conveyed deep sympathy to members of the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
Prof Khodadad Khan died on Tuesday at a hospital in the capital at the age of 84.
Professor AFM Khodadad Khan was born on November 1, 1932 at Gafargaon in Mymensingh district. He started his teaching career at the Department of Mathematics at Dhaka University in 1968.
Since he went on retirement in 2002, he had been working at the Department of Mathematics of Independent University Bangladesh (IUB).
