The Dhaka University (DU) is set to confer Doctor of Laws on Yukiya Amano, Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), at a special convocation on Tuesday.
President Abdul Hamid, also Chancellor of the university, will chair the convocation at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on the campus at 2.30 pm, said a press release.
Yukiya Amano will deliver a lecture on “Atomic Energy in Peace and Development” as convocation speaker on the occasion.
Marking the special convocation, a rehearsal ceremony will be held at the Senate Bhaban at 3 pm today.
Deans of different facilities of the university and other concerned who intend to take part in the convocation have been requested to be present at the venue by 2.30 pm to join the rehearsal.
