DU Theatre & Performance Studies stages Sanjbelar Bilap in New Delhi

Dhaka University Theatre and Performance Studies has presented the performance Sanjbelar Bilap in NSD (National School of Drama) as the inaugural performance at the 9th Asia Pacific Bureau of Theatre Schools Meet Festival in New Delhi in India.
Sanjbelar Bilap (Delirium of Twilight) directed by Professor Dr Israfil Shaheen at the Avimancha in NSD (National School of Drama) as the inaugural performance of the 9th Asia Pacific Bureau of Theatre Schools Meet Festival in New Delhi in India.
This performance has been acclaimed highly by the academics artists’ directors’ students and invited guests who are participants from more than 20 countries.
Beside the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies DU as the representative of Bangladesh, Singapore, China, South Korea, Thailand, Japan, Iran, Malaysia, Indonesia etc. are participating in this festival. The festival is inaugurated by the eminent theatre director Ratan Thiyam and welcomed by the NSD Director Professor Dr Waman Kendre.
Two workshops titled ‘The ethnographic sensibility for acting’ are conducted by Sydur Rahman Lipon, Shahman Moishan, Amit Chowdhury, Asiq Rahman Leeon and Kazi Tamanna Haque Sigma.
In these workshops, students of NSD India and other participant countries from Asia pacific region attended.
In two international seminars, Shahman Moishan, Assistant Professor of the department, has presented two papers titled ‘What is Asian strength in contemporary performance practices?’ and ‘Role of the text in contemporary theatre practice’ which were held on October 22 and 23 on the NSD premise where all international delegates were present.
