City Desk :
Pro-Awami League teachers of Dhaka University (DU) under the body “Blue Panel” condemned the attack on policemen and torching of their vehicles by the BNP men at Nayapaltan in the city on Wednesday.
The condemnation came from a statement issued on Thursday by the Convener of DU Blue panel Professor Z. M. Parvez Sazzad and Joint Convener Md. Humayun Kabir.
They said that the incidents of vandalism and arson reminded us of the horrific memories of the fiery agitation unleashed by BNP-Jamaat during the January 5, 2014 election and in 2015.
They also urged the Election Commission and the government to inflict proper punishment to the terrorists by identifying them through proper investigation. Any attempt to disrupt the existing peaceful environment of the country and to foil the forthcoming parliamentary elections will be contained, they said.
They further requested the people of all walks of life to resist such terrorists and their patrons in the upcoming elections.
