The Dhaka University (DU) authorities have suspended its Assistant Registrar Sharmin Jahan for violating rules and tarnishing image of the university.
Sharmin, also the owner of Aparajita International, got involved in other businesses without taking permission from the university authorities while staying on vacation, said a DU press release.
The release said that Sharmin’s arrest and remand for her involvement in N95 mask scam also
tarnished the university’s image. The university also served her with a show-cause notice asking her to explain within seven days.
On July 24, a fraud case was filed against Aparajita International with Shahbagh Police Station for supplying fake mask to the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMU).
Later, the Detective Branch of police arrested Sharmin Jahan on that day.
