Mohammad Imtiaz, a 4th year student of Dhaka University (DU) Accounting and Information System Department, is going to join a mountain expedition and the Ladakh Marathon in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.
Imtiaz on Monday paid a courtesy call on his university’s Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique at his office on the campus before leaving Dhaka for India, said a DU press release.
Siddique wished Imtiaz’s success on his mission and safe returning home. In a 24-day voyage, Imtiaz will ascend on the top of the Mount Stok Kangri, the highest mountain with 20,187 feet height in the Stok Range of the Himalayas in the Ladakh region of northwest India.
He will take part in the ‘Ladakh Marathon’, the highest and one of the toughest marathons to be held above 11,000 feet high from the sea level and will run 42.2 kilometers.
