A Dhaka University student continued his hunger strike till Monday morning demanding election to DUCSU (Dhaka University Central Student’s Union) within December 16.
Walid Ashraf, an evening master’s degree student of the Institute of Social Welfare and Research, went on hunger strike at 5 pm on Saturday on the premises of
Memory Eternal in front of the Vice-Chancellor house.
Ashraf said, he will continue it unto death if the authorities concerned do not pay heed to his demand.
“The VC has to declare the DUCSU election within November 30 next, or else, I’ll start hunger strike unto death seeking his (VC’s) resignation,” he added.
Contacted, DU Proctor Prof Golam Rabbani said, “I’ve heard about it (strike), but it’s not clear to me how he has taken this decision…”
