A Dhaka University student died after a landslide struck a hill, popular with tourists, in Cox’s Bazar on Saturday, police say.
The incident was reported in Himchhari, just 5km off the beach town of Cox’s Bazar. Three others injured in the landslide have been hospitalised. The dead has been identified Sabbir Alam Ridwan from Dhaka’s Uttara, said police. The 21-year-old was a student of Dhaka University’s Marketing Department, said Md Mozammel Haque, chief of Himchhari police camp. The injured are being treated in the state-run hospital in Cox’s Bazar.
