A student of Dhaka University (DU) committed suicide by lying on the railway track near Khilgaon Bazar in the capital on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Mahbub Shaheen, a student of Geography Department, hailed from Gopalganj.
Bangladesh Railway Police Sub-Inspector Md Sirajul Islam said: “Upon receiving information from
Kamalapur Railway Station Master, police recovered his body from Khilgaon level crossing at around 8:30pm.”
Four letters and Tk 2,000 were found in his pocket.
“No one is responsible for my death, the letters stated,” the SI said.
Shaheen’s friends said that he was looking depressed for several days regarding how to get a job after the masters course examination. This might have led him to commit suicide.
