DU student allegedly attacked by BCL leader

A Dhaka University student was allegedly beaten up in front of Udayon High school by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Jagannath Hall unit General secretary Otonu Bormon and his followers.
Victim Rakibul Hasan Sajib is a 4th-year student of Institute of social welfare and research and also a resident of Haji Muhammad Mohsin hall.
Seeking anonymity, one eyewitness said, “Otonu Bormon’s supporters clubbed Sajib. Then some people took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.”
Rakibul Hasan said, “I was returning to my hall from Dhaka University Medical centre. When I was passing by Shadhinota Songaram point in front of Udayon High school, Otono Bormon and his supporters suddenly intercepted my bike riding on bike.” “As I stopped my motorcycle to avoid a probable accident, they scolded me,” he added.
When I told them to stop scolding, a group of 20 to 25 followers of Otonu Bormon attacked me and hit every parts of my body roughly though I identified myself as a student of University”, he furthermore said.
Later, two of his friends came and saved him and took to Hospital for primary treatment.
When asked, Otonu Bormon said, “When we were passing Shadhinota Songram point, a motorcycle suddenly appeared in front of us from wrong direction. Then I asked him the reason of riding bike from opposite direction.” “Then he apologised for his mistake and said ‘sorry’. We didnt beat him or assaulted him physically”, Otonu added.
However from a human chain protesters demanded a legal action against Otonu Bormon at the Raju Memorial Scripture on afternoon.
