Dhaka University has selected renowned singer Sabina Yesmin for giving ‘Firoza Begum Memorial Award.’ On Tuesday, Dhaka University (DU) authority announced her name at a press conference held at Abdullah Faruque Conference Room of the Business Faculty building on the campus.
Music Department of DU introduced the award for the first time to preserve the memory of the veteran Nazrul artiste Firoza Begum.
Vice-Chancellor of DU AAMS Arefine Siddique will hand over the award at a function on July 28 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building Auditorium.
DU authority will provide the award every year to a veteran artist and a student of Music Department who will obtain highest CGPA.
