In order to establish an e-library, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on Thursday between Dhaka University (DU) and the telecom operator Robi.
DU Treasurer Prof Dr Md Kamal Uddin and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Robi Mahtab Uddin Ahmed signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations at a simple ceremony at the Vice-chancellor’s office.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, and Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Prof Dr Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, teachers and officials of Rabi were, among others, present on the occasion.
The main purpose of this MoU is to establish E-library at the university is to keep pace with the digital technology as well as developed countries.
Therefore, the teachers and students would be able to access international journals, books and periodicals for accomplishing their research and studies smoothly.
Both organizations hoped that this MoU will play an active role in accelerating joint collaborations for enhancing higher education of the youths in the 21st century in Bangladesh.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique thanked Robi for signing the MoU.
He said that through this e-library, students of the university would be equipped with modern technology and knowledge which would make them skilled manpower of the country to contribute for its development.
