The same female student, who had filed two rape cases against the immediate past vice-president of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union Nurul Haq Nur and his fellows, filed a fresh case against some unidentified persons accusing them of cyberbullying.
The new case was filed under Digital Security Act with the Shahbag police station in Dhaka late on
Wednesday, confirmed Mamunur Rashid, the officer-in-charge of the police station.
Mamunur said the plaintiff did not mention the name of any accused but submitted few Facebook IDs to police.
The student filed a case with the Lalbagh police on Sunday accusing Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Odhikar Sangrakshan Parishad convener Hasan Al Mamun of rape and five others, including Nur, of hiding Mamun’s ‘crimes’ and ‘threatening’ her.
In the second case filed with the Kotwali police station on Monday, she accused Chhatra Odhikar Parishad joint convenor Nazmul Hasan Shohag, the second accused in the Lalbagh case, of raping her and Mamun, Nur and the rest three of collusion with Shohag, abduction and defaming her on social media.
Nur and six others were briefly detained from a protest near the Matsya Bhaban on Monday night before they were released with an undertaking.
