DU protests Gulshan terror attack

Dhaka University (DU) authority on Monday observed anti-militancy human-chain at the surrounding areas on the campus as part of protesting the recent terror attack in Gulshan.
Thousands of teachers, students, officers, employees and various associations took part in the human chain.
Participating in the human chain, DU vice-chancellor (VC) Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique said Bangladesh is a non-communal country and there is no room for extremism here. He condemned the incident of Gulshan attack and said the allies of anti-liberation force accompliced the incident. Mass resistance has to be forged against those who are involved in terrorism and extremism and their instigators.
`The first terror attack in the country was committed in 15 August, 1975. Recent Gulshan attack is the alternative shape of that attack. The masterminds want to destroy our economy through the militancy. Radical economy has become strengthen in the country. As a result extremism is getting stronger’ said DU Pro-VC (administration) Prof Akhtaruzzaman.
DU Pro-VC (education) Prof Nasrin Ahmed, acting Proctor M Amjad, Teachers Association President Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed, General Secretary Prof Maksud Kamal and Member AJM Shafiul Alom Bhuiyan were spoke among others.
