Associate Professor of Dhaka University’s Mass Communication and Journalism Department Dr Naadir Junaid has received “Australian Alumni Excellence Award 2015 for Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships.”
Australian government conferred the award on select graduates of Australian universities in recognition of their extraordinary accomplishments in their chosen fields.
Dr Junaid received the award at a programme organized by Australian High Commission at Westin Hotel in the city.
Chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) Professor Dr A K Azad Chowdhury was present as the chief guest in the award giving ceremony, while Greg Wilcock, Australian High Commissioner in Bangladesh was special guest.
Dr Junaid was awarded three gold medals by DU for his outstanding academic achievements. As a Commonwealth scholar, he obtained master’s degree from King’s College, University of London. Dr Junaid obtained PhD from the University of New South Wales in Sydney as a recipient of an Australian Government Endeavour Postgraduate Award, it added.
