The freshers’ reception and orientation programme of students of first batch of Master of Social Science in Printing and Publication Studies of University of Dhaka (DU) was held at RC Majumder Arts Auditorium of Lecture Theatre of the campus recently.
Presided over by Chairman of the Printing and Publication Studies Department Dr Sudhangshu Sekhar Roy, Dean of the Social Science Faculty Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed was present as chief guest at the programme.
Professor of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of DU and also Member of Policy Making Committee of the Department of Printing and Publication Studies Prof Akhter Sultana, part-time faculty of the department Dr Monzurul Islam, noted poet and publication expert Dr Bimal Guha, publisher, researcher and Director of Bangladesh Publisher and Sellers Association Khan Mahbub, lecturers of the newly launched department Md Mahfuzur Rahman, Shilpy Begum, Mohosina Islam, Sheikh Jinat Sharmin and students of the department were present on the occasion.
A total of 30 students got the scope to study in this regular master programme which is for the first time ever in Bangladesh. These students were enrolled after facing competitive written and viva examinations. Classes of the first batch also began later.
