Dhaka University observed the historic Mujibnagar Day on Tuesday in a befitting manner marking the anniversary of oath-taking of the country’s first government during the War of Liberation in 1971.
On this day, Bangladesh government-in-exile took oath at Baidyanathtala mango orchard in Meherpur, the then Kushtia district, to form the provisional government of independent Bangladesh in the absence of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Marking the day, a discussion was held at Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) auditorium titled “Historic Mujibnagar Day and Independence of Bangladesh”.
