DU female student found dead in city

The body of a female student of Dhaka University has been recovered from Azimpur Government Staff Quarters in the capital.
On information, the fire service rushed to the spot and recovered the body of Israt Jahan Tusti (21) from the bathroom of the flat.
According to her classmate Taposhi, who claimed herself as one of the friends, told the media that deceased Tusti, 21, was the second year (honours) student of the English department of University of Dhaka (DU). She Hailed from Netrakona district and also was attached with Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall of the university.
Md Saiful Islam, an official of Palashi Barack Fire Station, said the personnel receiving a phone call in 999 broke open the door of a bathroom on the ground floor of 19 No. building of Azimpur Government Staff Quarters around 7:30am and rescued the student.
She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the on-duty doctors declared her dead, he said. He added that the two students used to rent a sublet in a house on the ground floor of the staff quarters.
Earlier in the morning, Tushti’s roommate saw the bathroom door locked from inside. But tap water was falling. She was later rescued after the roommate informed us through 999.
 We initially learned that she might fell in the bathroom and died of an illness. She was drenched in rain on Saturday (June 5), and we also learned that the victim had a cold related disease.
K M Asraf, Officer-in-charge ( OC ) of Lalbagh Police Station confirmed the news to the New Nation that the dead body was sent to her hometown Netrokona after the postmortem.
Meanwhile, a case of unnatural death (UD) was lodged with the police station, OC added.
