DU Correspondent :
The Dhaka University (DU) authorities on Tuesday suspended 69 students on charges of their involvement in the admission test forgery.
The Disciplinary Board of the University took the decision in a meeting chaired by DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor M Akhtaruzzaman, said a press release issued by the Public Relation Department of the University.
The suspended students are of the academic session from 2012-13 to 2017-18, the press release added.
According to the statement, the students will be served with show cause notices, which they will have to respond within seven days.
About the meeting, DU VC said, “We have suspended them based on intelligence reports which primarily proved them to have been involved with the forgery. “There is also a scope for them to prove their innocence. They will be issued show-cause notice within seven days to explain as to why they should not be permanently expelled.” Earlier in June, police pressed charges against 125 people, including 87 students of Dhaka University for their involvement in forgeries, including those of admission tests.
