Ten people including Dhaka University (DU) students and the bus driver were injured after a tyre exploration of ‘Matiri’ bus of DU.
The accident took place in Kajla area of Jatrabari on Wednesday morning. After the tyre exploration, the bus tilted over the divider on the road.
Several students inside the bus fell and were hurt. The students and the driver have received primary treatment from Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The “Maitri” bus runs on the route from Narayanganj’s IET to DU campus through Demra Staff Quarter.
“The tenure of the tyre of the bus expired and the concerned authorities were informed about it several times to change the tyre but no response,” Amir Hosen, one of the injured students claimed.
“If the accident would have been happened on the flyover, the bus would have supposed to fall down and it would lead to serious accident,” he added.
