The authority of Bijoy Ekattor Hall of Dhaka University (DU) has established a trust fund titled ‘Bijoy Ekattar Hall Trust Fund’ on Sunday.
Provost of Bijoy Ekattar Hall Professor A J M Shafiul Alam Buiyan handed over a cheque for Tk. 80 lac to DU Treasurer Professor Kamal Uddin at a function held at the Vice-Chancellor’s office, said a press release issued by DU Public Relation Office.
The amount of the trust fund has been collected from various internal sources of the hall.
Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Akhtaruzzaman, Dean of DU Arts Faculty Professor Abu Md. Delwar Hosain, Dean of Biological Sciences Faculty Professor Imdadul Hoque, Acting Registrar Md. Enamuzzaman, Acting Director of DU Public Relations Office Mahmood Alam and House Tutors of the hall were present on this occasion.
Out of the income of this trust fund, every year Provost Gold Medal, Provost Award and Scholarships will be given to meritorious students of Bijoy Ekattar Hall.
DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Akhtaruzzaman thanked the provost for his initiative to establish this Trust Fund. He hoped that the students of the hall would be highly benefited and encouraged by this trust fund.
