Dhaka University (DU) authority has imposed restriction on smoking at every administrative and institutional buildings. The decision was taken at a Syndicate meeting on 21 March in order to free the entire campus from adverse impact of tobacco smoke.
DU Public Relation Department issued a press release in this regard on Tuesday.
According to the press release, DU syndicate imposed restriction on smoking at the administrative building, every faculty, institution, office, class room, laboratory and every building of the university under the Tobacco Control Act.
Citing this, DU Acting Proctor Professor M Amjad said, it is hard to execute this order on the campus under the present circumstances. We shall try to convince the students of the harmful effects of the tobacco.
