Dhaka University Bangla Department and ‘Bangla Alumni’ celebrated Chaitra Sankranti, an age-old festival of rural Bangladesh which marks the last day of Bangla year, on Monday evening at the corridor of the department.
Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique was present as the chief guest with Bangla Department Chairperson Prof Begum Aktar Kamal in the chair.
The programmes featured music, dance, drama, staging Michael Madhusudan Dutta’s “Buro Shalikher Ghare Ron” and Selim Al Deen’s “Kittankhola”.
