DU Associate Prof Mahbub Litu obtains PhD

Muhammed Mahbubur Rahaman (Litu), an associate professor in the Institute of Education and Research (IER) at University of Dhaka has recently been awarded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education from University of Canterbury, New Zealand, says a press release.
His PhD research title was “Inclusive Education Aspirations: Exploration of Policy and Practice in Bangladesh Secondary Schools”.
His supervisors were Professor Janinka Greenwood, Dr. Dean Sutherland and Professor Gary Hornby. He started his journey in 2014 under the UC Doctoral Scholarship. The PhD thesis investigated stakeholders’ perceptions of the policies and practices of inclusive education and explored the complexities in translating policy into practices mainly for the influences from the donors and external forces in Bangladesh.
