DSE up, CSE down on Monday

Key share price index at the country’s premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) saw marginal gain while that of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) suffered loss on Monday, the 2nd trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 6.46 points or 0.13 percent to close at 4808.64 on the day. Of the 311 issues traded, 126 gained, 144 declined and 41 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 315.18 crore changed hands at the DSE on Monday against Tk 245.38 crore on Sunday.
The day’s top 10 gainers at the DSE were Alltex Industries, Usmania Glass, Delta Life Insurance, Mithun Knitting, Prime Insurace, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company, National Tubes, Rahim Textile, 1st ICB Mutual Fund, and JMI Syringes & Medical Devices.
The 5 turnover leaders of the day were Square Pharmaceuticals, United Commercial Bank, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company, ACI, and Ifad Autos.
The CSE key index, CSCX, lost 8.30 points to reach 8923.49 on Monday. Of the 235 issues traded, 85 advanced, 115 suffered loss and 35 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues was Tk 26.24 crore at the CSE on the day.
