Key share price index at the country’s twin bourses-Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – suffered loss on Sunday, the 1st trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX dropped 81.19 points or 1.69 percent to close at 4716.76 on the day. Of the 307 issues traded, 34 gained, 252 declined and 21 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 223.24 crore changed hands at the DSE on Sunday against Tk 223.60 crore on Wednesday.
The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE were Shyampur Sugar Mills, Summit Alliance Port, Sonali Aansh, Eastern Insurance, National Feed Mill, Quasem Drycells, National Polymer, Progressive Life Insurance, Khan Brothers Pp Woven Bag Industries, and Imam Button.
Similarly, the CSE key index, CSCX, dropped 156.52 points to reach 8768.31 at the close on Sunday. Of the 233 issues traded, 36 advanced, 182 suffered loss and 15 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues was Tk 23.66 crore at the CSE on the day.
