Share market remained upward trend on Tuesday on higher participation when the daily transactions in value at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) rose over four-month high.
The trade value of the day increased to Taka 1320.68 crore which was the highest after Taka 1393.19 crore, traded on February 26 this year. The trade volume also scored to 48.03 crore shares which was the highest after 48.96 crore shares, traded on January 25.
DSEX finished the day with 3.58 points up at 5,830.77 which were the highest after introducing the DSEX on January 27, 2013.
The DSES for Shariah-based companies and DS30 for the blue chip scrips also followed the upward trend with 4.45 points up at 2126.60 and 2.17points up at 1321.86 respectively.
At DSE, out of the day’s 331 securities, prices of 107 securities closed higher against 195 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Agni System, Islami Bank, Saiham Cotton, Bay Leasing and BD Auto Cars. The major losing issues were Bangas, Popular Life Insurance, All Tex, Beach Hatchery and Rupali Bank.
Beximco Limited topped the turnover list followed by Keya Cosmetics, Islami Bank, Agni System and City Bank.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 53.31 points up at 18,114.17.
At CSE, 260 were issues traded. Of those, 94 closed higher and 145 closed lower while 3.13 crore shares worth Taka 76.71 crore changed hands.
