DSE turnover hits 7-month high

With active participation of investors, the daily turnover value at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Thursday crossed Taka 850 crore, the highest in over seven months.
The trade value at DSE increased to Taka 858.74 crore from the previous session’s Taka 676.97 crore. It was the highest turnover since Taka 928.91 crore on November 27, last year.
During the week, the broader DSEX of the DSE finished the week with 97.98 points up at 5441.76. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 6.80 points up at 1,981.80 and with 25.289 points up at 1,263.46 respectively.
Out of the 342 issues traded at the DSE, 151 issues gained against 150 losing issues.
During the week, the daily average trade value increased by 3.40 percent to Taka 439.53 crore. But the average trade volume fell by 12.40 percent to 7.83 crore shares.
The top five gainers of the week were Popular Life, LIBRAINFU, Pharma Aid, Aramit and JMISMDL.
The major losing issues of the week were Aman Feed, SEMLLECMF, Legacy Foot, DSSL and Aamra Net.
The top five turnover leaders were UPGDCL, Pharma Aid, Monno Ceramics, Square Pharma and GP. Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week up, with its major CASPI index ending 281.13 points up at 16,786.24.
