Key share price index in the country’s twin bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – gained for the second successive session as prices of most of the issues increased Monday after mixed bearish and bullish sessions last week.
The DSE daily turnover again crossed Tk 804 mark, up about Tk 106.52 crore on the day.
Trading at both DSE and CSE began on positive note in the morning on Monday and ended the day with marginal gain after some ups and downs. The volume of trade in terms of value was higher at both the bourses on the day than on Sunday.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 38.85 points or 0.81 percent to reach 4826.51 at the close of trading on Monday. Of the 289 issues traded, 175 gained, 90 declined and 24 remained unchanged.
Most of the traded issues of the day included those from IT, insurance, chemicals, aviation, pharmaceuticals, financial institutions, textile, and petroleum sectors.
Shares worth Tk 804.19 crore changed hands at the DSE on Monday, showing a gain of Tk 106.52 crore over Tk 697.67 crore on Sunday,
The day’s top 10 gainers at the DSE were Islami Insurance, Bangas, BDcom Online, Aarma Tech, Rupali Bank, Pharma Aids, Libra Infusion, Agni Systems, and Information Services Limited.
Meghna Petroleum, Mercantile Bank and Lanka Bangla were the top most traded issues at the DSE in terms of value while Mercantile Bank, United Air, and One Bank were the most traded on the in terms of volume.
The CSE key index, the DSEX gained 41.39 points or 0.86 percent to reach 4829.05 at 11:20 am while the CSCX gained 55.09 points to stand at 9462.11, also at 11:20 am Monday.
