DSE lose, CSE gain on Sunday

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed loss on Sunday while Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) returned to positive on the first trading day of the week.
The DSE key index, DSEX dropped 5.62 points or 0.12 percent to close at 4624.02 on the day. Of the 323 issues traded, 119 gained, 153 declined and 44 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 366.42 crore changed hands at the DSE on Sunday as against Tk 434.39 crore on Thursday.
Western Marine Shipyard topped the loser’s list at Dhaka bourse while other companies were Progressive Life Insurance, Mercantile Bank, National Tea Company, Shahjalal Islami Bank, National Life Insurance, Prime Insurance, Metro Spinning, Nitol Insurance and First Security Islami Bank.
The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were Beximco, Beximco Pharma, Emerald Oil Industries, United Power Generation & Distribution Company and KDS Accessories.
Top five gainers at the DSE were Miracle Industries, Malek Spinning Mills, National Housing Finance and Investment, Beximco and Stylecraft Limited.
The key index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), CASPI gained 19.87 points to reach 14109.49 at close on Sunday. Of the 226 issues traded, 99 advanced, 102 suffered loss and 25 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues at the port city bourse was Tk 23.12 crore on the day.
