DSE index close week in red; CSE gains

Key share price index in the country’s premier bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) stayed down while that of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) gained on Thursday, the last trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX lost 6.81 points or 0.14 percent to reach 4547.05 at close on the day. Of the 295 issues traded, 108 gained, 162 declined and 25 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 632.13 crore changed hands at the DSE on Thursday.
The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE were IFIL Islamic Mutual Fund, ICB AMCL Mutual Fund; ICB AMCL 3d NRB Mutual Fund; ICB AMCL 2nd NRB Mutual Fund; ICB AMCL Sonali Bank 1st Mutual Fund; ICB Employee Provident Mutual Fund 1; ICB AMCL 2nd Mutual Fund; Prime Bank 1; ICB AMCL Mutual Fund; Standard Ceramic; and Phoenix Finance 1st Mutual Fund.
The CSE key index, CSCX gained 21.02 points to reach 8574.43 at the close today. Of the 225 issues traded, 70 advanced, 131 suffered loss and 24 remained unchanged.
