Key share price index at the country’s premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) remained almost unchanged while that of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) lost heavily on Monday, the first working day of the week, after a three-day recess.
The DSE key index, DSEX shed 0.37 points or nearly 0.01 percent to close at 4554.15 at close on the day. Of the issues traded, 107 increased, 164 declined and 28 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 615.22 crore changed hands at the DSE on Monday.
The day’s top ten traded issues at the DSE were Khulna Printing & Packaging, Lafarge Surma Cement, BSRM Steel, Grameen Phone, Appollo Ispat, MJL Bangladesh, BEXIMCO, Matin Spinning Mills, Square Pharmaceuticals, and Central Pharmaceuticals.
The CSE key index, CSCX lost 55.14 points to close at 8541.13 on the day. Of the issues traded, 67 increased, 133 declined and 23 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 54.16 crore were traded at the CSE on Monday.
