DSE foreign trade turnover doubles in Nov

The total turnover of foreign trade in the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) almost doubled to Taka 1,253.43 crore in November which is Taka 611.43 crore higher than the amount in the previous month.
In October, the total turnover of the foreign trade was Taka 642 crore, according to DSE data.
“Due to the government’s time befitting initiatives, stock markets are gradually becoming a lucrative position for the both local and foreign investors. Now the foreign investors are showing keenness to invest in the Bangladesh stock markets,” Azam Securities Limited Managing Director Ahmed Kabir Majumder told.
He expressed the hope that the foreign trade in the Bangladesh stock markets will increase further in future.
The foreign trade turnover in November 2017 was Taka 589.71 crore more than the amount in corresponding period of the previous year. In November 2016, the total turnover of the foreign trade was Taka 663.72 crore.
Foreign investors are keen to invest in the market as the overseas investors bought shares worth Taka 636.19 crore and sold shares of Taka 617.24 crore in November, 2017. In this month, the buy value was Taka 18.95 crore higher than the sell value.
The total turnover was Taka 1,036.37 crore in January, 2017, Taka 632.89 crore in February, Taka 1,092.19 crore in March, Taka 867.59 crore in April, Taka 896.95 crore in May, 1,072.63 crore in June, Taka 1,049.79 crore in July, Taka 832.73 crore in August and 946.56 crore in September in the current year.
