DSE down, CSE up nominally Wednesday

Key share price index at the country’s premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) was down while that of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) stayed positive at close on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX lost 6.33 points or 0.13 percent to reach 4697.54 at the close of trading on Wednesday. Of the 290 issues traded, 106 gained, 144 declined and 40 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 354.69 crore changed hands at the DSE on the day.
During the day’s session, among the major sectors, cement and pharmaceuticals performed well while NBFI and general insurance followed the declining trend.
The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE were Prime Bank, ACI Zero Coupon bonds, FBFIF, ICB AMCL 2nd Mutual Fund, Eastern Insurance, Gemini Sea Food, Pubali General Insurance, Sonargaon Textiles, Anlima Yarn Dyeing, and ICB AMCL Islamic Mutual Fund.
Meanwhile, the CSE key index, CSCX gained 0.12 points to reach 9221.36 at the close on Wednesday. Of the 214 issues traded, 78 advanced, 110 suffered loss and 26 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues at the CSE was Tk 33.35 crore on Wednesday.
