Stocks continued to maintain an upward trend on Sunday as the major indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges witnessed a rising trend with the active participation of investors. The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the day with 25.72 points up at 5,596.91. The Shariah DSES and the blue-chip DS30 also maintained the same trend with 14.70 points higher at 1,272.34 and with 13.62 points up at 1,961.78.
Out of the 335 issues traded on DSE, 200 gained against 107 losing issues. The day’s trade value at DSE stood at Taka 420.24 crore and 12.66 crore shares exchanged hands on the day.
The top five gainers of the day were Aziz Pipes, CAPMIBBLMF, Olympic, Monno Ceramics and AFCAGRO while the top five losers were National Life Insurance, Sonargaon, Paramount, Sonar Bangla Insurance and KJDSALTD. Active Fine topped the turnover list followed by Lanka Bangla Finance, BBS Cables, UPGDCL and NHFIL. Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the day up with its major CASPI index ending 146.48 points higher at 17,257.70. At CSE, out of the 233 traded issues, 111 gained while 58 declined. The trade value at CSE was Taka 20.98 crore and 79.83 lakh shares exchanged hands on the day.
