DSE, CSE indices lose on Tuesday

Key share price index at the country’s twin bourses-Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) — suffered loss for the third consecutive session on Tuesday, the 3rd trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX shed 23.61 points or 0.50 percent to close at 4695.80 on the day. Of the 309 issues traded, 61 gained, 221 declined and 27 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 221.02 crore changed hands at the DSE on Tuesday against Tk 298.05 crore on Monday.
The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE were Lankabangla Finance, Modern Dyeing & Screen Printing, Progressive Life Insurance, Libra Infusions, Sonargaon Textiles, MBL 1st Mutual Fund, Prime Textile, Rupali Bank, Standard Ceramic, and Saiham Cotton Mills.
The 5 turnover leaders of the day were Shahjibazar Power, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company, Summit Alliance Port, Lafarge Surma Cement and Grameenphone.
The CSE key index, CSCX, lost 59.21 points to reach 8721.89 on Tuesday. Of the 227 issues traded, 40 advanced, 151 suffered loss and 36 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues was Tk 19.68 crore at the CSE on the day.
