DSE, CSE indices gain

Key share price index at the country’s twin bourses-Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – gained on Wednesday after two consecutive sessions of loss.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 15.90 points or 0.35 percent to close at 4509.30 on the day. Of the 314 issues traded, 135 gained, 142 declined and 37 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 350.79 crore changed hands at the DSE on Wednesday against Tk 255.54 crore on Tuesday.
The day’s top 10 gainers at the DSE were JMI Syringes & Medical Devices, Libra Infusions, Popular Life Insurance, Pharma Aids, Kohinoor Chemicals, Renwick Jajneswar, Wata Chemicals, Provati Insurance, Standard Insurance, and Apex Tannery.
The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were ACI, Grameenphone, Shasha Denims, ACI Formulations, and Lafarge Surma Cement.
The CSE key index, CSCX lost 26.19 points to reach 8338.35 at close on Wednesday. Of the 223 issues traded, 85 advanced, 113 suffered loss and 25 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues was Tk 61.15 crore on the day at the CSE.
