Key share price index at the country’s twin bourses-Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) — suffered loss on Sunday, the 1st trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX shed 23.57 points or 0.49 percent to close at 4739.65 on the day. Of the 309 issues traded, 86 gained, 188 declined and 35 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 336.65 crore changed hands at the DSE on Sunday against Tk 296.10 crore on Thursday.
The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE were Modern Dyeing & Screen Printing, Maksons Spinning Mills, Mutual Trust Bank, Saiham Cotton Mills, Golden Harvest Agro Industries, Global Insurance, Lafarge Surma Cement, Hakkani Pulp & Paper, BD Thai Aluminium, and BDCOM Online.
The 5 turnover leaders of the day were Heidelberg Cement, Lafarge Surma Cement, Shahjibazar Power, Social Islami Bank Limited, and Singer Bangladesh.
The CSE key index, CSCX, lost 4.01 points to reach 8850.40 on Sunday. Of the 226 issues traded, 50 advanced, 154 suffered loss and 22 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues was Tk 39.71 crore at the CSE on the day.
