DSE, CSE indexes lose on Wednesday

Key share price index at the country’s twin bourses-Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – suffered loss on Wednesday, the 4th trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX dropped 73.74 points or 1.52 percent to close at 4783.21 on the day. Of the 309 issues traded, 36 gained, 248 declined and 25 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 281.92 crore changed hands at the DSE on Wednesday against Tk 247.17 crore on Tuesday.
The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE were National Feed Mill Limited, Shyampur Sugar Mills, Midas Financing, Progressive Life Insurance, BD Welding Electrodes, Sinobangla Industries, Samata Leather Complex, NCCBL Mutual Fund-1, BD Thai Aluminium, and Gemini Sea Food.
Similarly, the CSE key index, CSCX, dropped 120.26 points to reach 8885.55 at the close on Wednesday. Of the 240 issues traded, 26 advanced, 195 suffered loss and 19 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues was Tk 32.68 crore at the CSE on the day.
