Key share price index at the country’s twin bourses -Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed down trend on Monday, the 1st trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX lost 15.11 points or nearly 0.31 percent to close at 4926.41 on the day. Of the 303 issues traded, 86 gained, 186 declined and 31 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 204.42 crore changed hands at the DSE on Monday as against Tk. 227.54 crore on Thursday.
The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE were Shahjibazar Power, Progressive Life Insurance, Pragati Life Insurance, Prime Islami Life Insurance, Trust Bank, Saiham Textile, First Janata Bank Mutual Fund, ICB Islamic Bank, Shyampur Sugar Mills, and Safko Spinnings.
